An Exploration of Human Connection
11th - 18th August 2019
The aim of HeartSpace Gathering is to help each other connect more deeply with ourselves, with those around us and with nature in order to open our hearts to the present moment and reside fully in our bodies. Our vision is a world where people can be fully authentic and express their truths with love and acceptance. Through a diverse offering of workshops and experiences, we will explore the energetic dynamics of giving and receiving, expressing and witnessing, consent and boundaries, moving towards greater freedom and joy. The camp way of life will enhance this journey through the nourishing experience of community living and being close to nature.
We will camp in circles of 10 to 12 tents around cooking fires. The preparation of evening meals is shared within the circle, which means everyone will only need to cook once during the camp. This facilitates the sharing of food, jobs, equipment and tools, and also creates a great community feeling and a safe place to come home to. There will be a welcoming crew to help you find a circle to join. Firewood will be provided.
Facilities on-site will include compost toilets, showers and a café open during the afternoon for lunch and snacks.

Camp life is a wonderful experience for children and we are delighted to welcome kids of all ages to participate.
The Kids Area will host lots of fun and explorative workshops. These will include forest crafts, circus skills, story-telling, kids yoga and more! The kids workshop programme will aim to cater for ages 5 to 12 and will be co-facilitated by parents, who will be asked to assist the workshop leaders. Due to the small capacity of the camp this year, there will not be a separate programme for teenagers, however we encourage them to come and join in with some of the adult programme and assist in the Kids Area.
What to bring
Tents and plenty of bedding
Clothes for all weather, including lots of warm gear and waterproofs, especially for the kids
Natural soap/shampoo/toothpaste/sunscreen/insect repellent
Cushion/mat/sheepskin/blanket to make yourself comfortable during workshops
Yoga mat for Yoga workshops
Food- everything you need for breakfasts and lunches during the camp, plus food to cook one large evening meal for your circle (cooking will be shared between 2 or 3 people- so think ingredients for 7 or 8 people)
Cooking equipment- large cooking pots and kettle that can go on the fire, large water containers, washing-up tub & natural washing-up liquid, plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, chopping board, knife
Other tools and equipment- camping chairs, large tarp for shelter building, tools for shelter building, firelighters/lighter, small axe/hatchet for chopping kindling, fire gloves, fire grate/grid/trivet
Don’t worry if you don’t have everything on the tools and equipment lists- the idea is that people share resources within their circle. However if you do have some of the more unusual items on the list like a large tarp or a trivet, please bring them!
At HeartSpace Gathering we aim to create a safe space for everyone to explore and enjoy. In order to do this we have developed the following guidelines and ground rules:
We ask that everyone arrives for the beginning of the camp and stays until the end. This is an important element of creating and holding a safe space.
Drug- and alcohol-free event. To strengthen the integrity and sensitivity of the camp there will be a strict no alcohol and no drugs policy.
No mobile phones/devices. To deepen our experience of ourselves, each other and nature we request that mobile phones and other electronic devices are switched off for the duration of the camp. Calls should be made off-site.
Treading lightly on the Earth. We will encourage an ethos of minimising our footprint on the land and respecting all other beings. Only natural cleaning products should be used and the land will be left as we found it.
Parents are responsible for their children at all times. Parents and children should be aware of each other’s whereabouts at all times. No children (under 18s) will be allowed on site without a parent or appointed guardian.
No unaccompanied children at the stream or lake. Under no circumstances will children be allowed to be at the lake or stream without adult supervision.
There will be a noise curfew from 11pm each night. After this time no loud noise will be permitted. This is for everyone’s benefit but also in consideration of nearby neighbours.
Photos- Please be respectful with the use of cameras. Always ask permission before taking someone’s photo and be sure to have the express permission of everyone in your photo before posting it online or sharing it with others. We have an official HeartSpace photographer on site. If you do not wish to be photographed or have your photos shared online, please let us know by email at email@example.com and send us a head shot so we know your face. We will keep your information private.
No visitors will be allowed on site. Only advance ticket holders will be permitted entry.
No pets will be allowed on site.
